Since our last post, we’ve been gearing up to announce Feather’s Edge to the world. Working on the announcement has been just as exciting as locking in a name that people can say without breaking a sweat.

A peek behind the scenes

One of the more prominent things we needed was a trailer, which we decided to make ourselves. The art team made a very cool animatic and the rest of the team helped with video editing, a slamming music track, and many rounds of feedback and iteration.

The team has pulled together to work on a Steam store page, key art, an announcement trailer, and more. We even have a Feather’s Edge landing page now. If you’ve enjoyed the journey of Feather’s Edge thus far, you can wishlist it today on Steam!

Working on capsule art, wordmarks, endslates, has been intense but rewarding and we cannot wait to share our progress with you. We’ll also be ramping up our social media with lots of gameplay and work-in-progress content so join us there if you want to follow along. The last three months have been jam-packed with marketing efforts, and we’re looking forward to finally seeing our community reap the benefits.

Playtesting sign ups!

Speaking of benefits, we’ve got some other exciting things lined up. We’ll be doing playtesting soon which you can sign up for on Steam today. If you’re signing up thanks to this blog post, please pop us a message on Discord so that we can shortlist you! Announcement prep has kept us busy, but we’re still just as busy with making the game.

We’re working on more abilities, juicing up animations (Upu does a mid-air bollemakiesie now), and indulging in new enemies and environments.

We’re hard at work fleshing out the rest of the game, here’s a taste of what we’re building:

Feather’s Edge is an action-packed kinetic metroidvania. Dash and slash through enemies – once you’ve locked in your optimal jump, your blade is out and ready to slice through foes in one satisfying stroke. Play as Upu, the Hoopoe warrior, and slice your way to the top of the Tower of Time to stop time itself from collapsing. Explore the rich handcrafted world within the Tower fractured by time-rifts and conquer rifts in tough-as-talons battles as you perfect skills and chase scores.

It’s a pretty exciting time overall as Feather’s Edge unfurls. A big shoutout and thank you goes to Outersloth, the indie funding initiative from the developers of Among Us. They backed us when Feather’s Edge was just a fledgling and have shown us so much continuous support!. Thank you, everyone (yes, you reading this), for joining us along this journey (and reading this far). You’ll hopefully be seeing a lot of us on the worldwide web over the next couple of months.
